When I am working in the stores, I am often asked for my opinion; “which would you choose?” “which one do you like”?, “which one is your favorite?”. So this blog is dedicated to a few of My Favorite Things! Honestly, I like all things Mary Jane’s, but there truly are some brands, collections, and pieces that I would call my favorites.
CLOTHING:
When it comes to clothing, I am a sucker for anything with a hood or pockets! I LOVE the faux fur hooded jacket on-line right now. I can see that it is a customer favorite too as we are now out of the black and mint colors but still have the taupe and dusty lilac (which is my favorite offering). These are one size fits most so make a great gift too!
I literally just talked to our buyer, Janelle and she assures me that we will be back in stock soon and there are MORE, NEW COLORS coming soon! YAY!
I’m also going to give you a SNEAK PEEK of three new tops that are coming very soon that are on my list to personally purchase! All of these are from Easel, an easy to wear brand with soft fabrics, great textures, and beautiful mixes of pattern.
The Sierra button down front long sleeve tee is the perfect transitioning piece and works from winter to spring. It’s perfect right now and can be layered with another heavier sweater, scarf or jacket, but it’s also perfect for those dashes of spring in the early months of the year. My friends know that I am actually a very casual dresser and this is the PERFECT top to me. Simple color but I love the mix of button detail. It will be available on-line and at the Waimea store location in a few colors.
The second must-have on my list is this gentle mix & match top. It has a round neck and flowy sleeves and has just the right touch of “romance” to it. The multiple fabrics blend so nicely and I think it pairs fabulously with a pair of jeans but could also be dressed up. I would definitely layer a long necklace to draw the attention down the body and slim the look. This is a must-have for me! It will be available on-line and at the Waimea store location.
Last, I love the loose fit of this boxy, textured knit off white top. V-necks are such a flattering neckline and I can’t wait to own this top. Simple classics are essential and this is one that I think everyone needs! We are getting it in three colors on-line and two at the Waimea store location. It’s on my list and I will push people out of the way to get it (just kidding, but I really love it).
GIFTS:
I love our new travel coffee tumblers. They are double wall stainless and have a BPA-free lid with a silicone seal. It keeps hot drinks hot or cold drinks cold for up to 12 hours. We also offer styles without the handle, mainly used as stemless wine tumblers that are safe to use on your lanai or porch. These tumblers offer the perfect reminders that we cannot hold in negativity, we need to take a deep breath and LET IT GO! There are other great messages available as well - the perfect girl-friend gift or self gift!
These gift bag sets are a MUST HAVE in my house. I have a drawer full of them and whenever I am gifting something I pull out my drawer and pick just the right size for the job! I never stress because I know I have a gift bag just waiting and I can feel good about the fact that they are made with 80% recycled water bottles! The Giving Bag collection is my favorite, you are supposed to sign and date the bottom of the bag and then the recipient does the same as they are ENCOURAGED to REGIFT the bag by signing and dating again, and it just goes on and on. If you are part of a group of friends that regularly gifts to each other, it’s fun to see who gets the bag next and who has already received it and when.
JEWELRY:
I just love Scout Jewelry semi-precious stone wrap bracelets that easily convert to a necklace. The Aqua Terra - Stone Of Peace is probably my favorite. It has a beautiful mix of colors and incorporates both silver and gold plated beads into the design so it coordinates with anything! It’s 34” long and is presented on a card that tells you the meaning of the stone – a great gift!

One of my favorite designers on the Big Island, Megan Goodwin, makes gorgeous Hawaiian shell jewelry and ALSO makes these custom mountain/pine tree necklaces for us.
